In 2027, the University of Hull will celebrate its centenary: a time to reflect on a century of changemakers, celebrate our impact, and look ahead to the next 100 years.
As part of our centenary celebrations, we’re creating a commemorative book to capture the people, places and experiences that have shaped the University since 1927.
But we can’t tell that story without you.
We’re inviting alumni to share photographs, memories, mementos and stories from their time at Hull. Whether it’s a favourite photograph, a treasured keepsake, or a short recollection of around 100-300 words, we’d love to hear from you.
Alumni memories and photographs will help inform the centenary book alongside material from the University’s archives and other historical sources. They may also be featured in future nostalgia and heritage stories on the Hull Alumni blog and across our social media as we celebrate our first 100 years.

We’re happy to receive anything from a single photograph with a caption to a short written recollection of around 100-300 words. If you’re submitting memorabilia, we’d love to hear the story behind it and why it was important to your time at Hull.
While not every submission can be included in the centenary book, we’d love to continue sharing the stories, memories and photographs that make Hull special. Contributions may also be featured in future nostalgia and heritage articles on the Hull Alumni blog, social media and other University of Hull platforms, helping us celebrate our community’s history throughout the centenary year and beyond.

By sending us photographs, memories or other materials, you confirm that you are happy for the University of Hull to consider them for use in centenary-related publications and communications, including the centenary book and the Hull Alumni blog.
If you are submitting photographs, please ensure that you either own the image or have permission to share it with us. Where possible, we ask that you consider the privacy of anyone featured in your photographs and seek their consent before submitting images in which they can be clearly identified.
